Shipley Bowmen welcomes archers of all ages from 8 years upwards. Beginners and archers returning to the sport are welcome to attend a taster session free of charge to find out what is involved and to shoot under the supervision of our coaches and experienced archers. We have a variety of bows and other archery equipment for you to try out, so there’s no need to buy anything right away.

We run archery taster sessions once a month, usually on the second Sunday. If you then decide to take up the sport, we run beginners’ courses a few times a year. The training course takes two mornings, on consecutive Saturdays, and will enable you to qualify as a registered archer with Archery GB. The course cost is £40.
